History

"A Gator Dun Ate My Boots!" had its beginnings during a long bus commute. Growing tired of reading books to pass the time, Burr Johnson decided to write his own story merely to amuse himself. As an artist in the game industry, Burr determined that the tablet would be the ideal platform for his book. With the help of programmer Glen McGhie and sound designer Jaren Tolman, "A Gator Dun Ate My Boots!" came to life with interactive animation, sound effects, and music. The narration is performed by three 'saltwater' Cajuns from Houma, Louisiana. These voices add a level of authenticity to the book and make it a pleasure to listen to. The illustrations are rich in color and reflect the picturesque scenery of the deep Louisiana bayou, as well as a peek into New Orleans' French quarter. The tale is full of humor and irony, and reminds the reader that life can be much easier when we show a little courtesy.
